Artist Statement
"For me the process for making art is all about mark making. My process of creating drawings and paintings reflect the energy present in the gestural marks on surfaces in the landscape. My desire to investigate the surface has fuelled my interests in the organic world, and how to express my own emotional response to nature. The challenge for me as a visual artist is to create work that has the power to hold the viewer's attention to reveal itself. Through texture, line and colour, conveying the essence of the image that leaves something for the imagination and encouraging the viewer in their own process of thinking and seeing".
